NFL Week 11
Well, wasn't last week special? The hapless Cowboys, kicked the rocking Giants boo-boo, the up and coming Redskins got humiliated so bad that the DC area McDonald's has a new menu item. Order a McNabb, and they will throw a McRib at your feet. This week has started off to an interesting start. The Bears shut out out the Dolphins. Well, here's my predictions for this weekend.
Oakland at Pittsburgh
Even with their worst home loss since 2006 fresh in their minds and an injury list that keeps growing, the Steelers say they’re not headed for another mid-season collapse. After last weeks whooping by the Patriots, I'm not so sure. The Raiders were in last place when they stunned the Steelers at Heinz Field last year, but they’ll be looking to keep at least a share of the AFC West lead by earning a fourth straight win Sunday. The Steelers looked horrible last Sunday and let Brady throw for 350 yards. I'm thinking that the Steelers are playing injured and look weak right now. OAK - 27 PIT - 17
Cleveland at Jacksonville
The Browns are playing far better than their record indicated, and the Jaguars might be one of the league’s most difficult teams to decipher from week to week, but it seems to be making its identity clear - if a game is decided by three touchdowns or fewer, Jack Del Rio’s squad is going to win. The Browns almost beat a strong Jets team, and I'm going with them in a squeaker. CLE - 21 JAX - 14
Washington at Tennessee
The Titans have have lost their starting quarterback in three of the previous four games, but will try to keep Vince Young upright as these two teams meet at LP Field on Sunday, and Kerry Collins has been fighting injuries as well. This could be a problem on Sunday, after the Titans took a bad beating by the Dolphins. Now lets talk about the Redskins. I've never thought too highly about Donovan McNabb, as he has never performed well when the chips are down. If the Titans can avoid injury, they will will win this week. TEN - 32 WAS - 18
Houston at New York Jets
New York (7-2) became the first team in NFL history to win back-to-back overtime games on the road, knocking off Cleveland 26-20 last week. Their luck is about to end this Sunday. I'm going out on a limb and calling it for the Texans. HOU -24 NYJ - 21 in overtime. (You are welcome, Jazz Shaw).
Baltimore at Carolina
I'm not wasting my time with this one. BAL 34 - CAR - 10
Green Bay at Minnesota
The Packers are coming off a bye week after kicking the Cowboys' collective asses (it brought a smile to my face). But let's talk about the Vikings, led by 70 year old Brett Favre, who looked old, injured and sick last week. Ok, lets not talk about the Vikings. This is an easy call, even if it it is played in Minneapolis. GB - 28 MIN - 10
Arizona at Kansas City
My eyes glaze at this game. The Cardinals are uninspiring, and the Chiefs, who lost to the Broncos, manage to keep a winning record. I'm going with the Chiefs. KC-17 ARIZ - 3
Detroit at Dallas
Did I ever mention how much I hate the Cowboys and their owner Jerry Jones? Yep, I thought so. This is wishful thinking. DET - 28 DAL - 3
Buffalo at Cincinnati
The Bills finally won a game last week, and will win another one this Sunday against the Bengals. The Bills have played better than their record shows, the Bengals, not so much. BUF - 17 CIN - 9
Seattle at New Orleans
This is going to be a tough game to call. The Seahawks are coming off a slaughter of the Cardinals last week, and the Saints are healing off of a bye week. I'm tossing a coin and going with Seattle. SEA - 28 NO - 17
San Francisco at Tampa Bay
I'm not going to waste words here TB - 32 SF - 10
Atlanta at St. Louis
The Falcons are on the top of their division and if they continue to play as they have as of late, could be a real contender in the playoffs. The Rams, ehhhh. Not so much. ATL - 24 STL - 10
Indianapolis at New England
Ok, My brain says the the Patriots, but I hate them almost as bad as the Cowboys. The Colts almost got beat by the Bengals....What's up with that???? Come on Peyton. Rally the troops. IND - 21 NE - 17 in overtime
New York Giants at Philadelphia
Ok what happened last week, Giants? Did you not remember that you have to show up for a game to win??? The worst team in the NFL beat you. On the other hand, Michael Vick lead the Eagles to a huge win over DonovanMcRib McNabb and clobbered the Redskins. Manning has not been getting good support from the offensive line and the Giants have been inconsistent from week to week. My heart is with the Giants, but my brain is with the Eagles. PHL - 24 NYG - 13
Finally the Monday night game.
Who cares.
Those are my picks, what are yours?

Thanks to Rick from the Wizbang blog site for this. He asked us to pass it on, so I'm doing just that.
Immigration
Immigration not illegal immigration has made America great. The current invasion on our southern border and tolerated by the Obama regime, is unacceptable. Bill Wittle has another great video in his series that explains yet another Tea Party pillar. This goes out to friends, both native born Americans, and people dear to me who were born and live abroad.

NFL Week 10
Well my crystal ball was well tuned up last week, and there were some great games. I'm a bit late putting my predictions up for week 10, as Atlanta played Baltimore on Thursday night and the only people who watched it on TV had Direct TV with the NFL package. Atlanta won 26-21, and are poised to be a formidable foe in the playoffs.
Without further Ado, here's my NFL picks for week 10:
Cincinnati at Indianapolis
With a loss to the Eagles last weekend, the Colts' winning streak came to an end. The Bengals suffered yet another loss to the Steelers, and it looks like this week will chalk up another digit in the L column for them. IND - 28 CIN - 14
New York Jets at Cleveland
This looks like a very interesting match-up. The Brown's record does not do them justice as of late. They gave the Steelers a big run for their money last weekend, and the Jets really didn't show up until the 4th quarter and only beat the Lions in over time. The Jets had better bring their game with them to Cleveland, or their luck may just run out on Sunday. I'm going to do Jets fan Jazz Shaw, a favor and pick the Browns in an upset. CLE - 24 NYJ - 22 in a nail biter. ( I hope this makes you happy, Jazz LOL)
Minnesota at Chicago
The Bears will grab a share of first place in the NFC North with a win Sunday, but standing in their way is a Vikings team that may be playing with renewed confidence after a possibly season-saving win last weekend. However, I'm not going to call an upset for the Vikings, considering this is a home field advantage for the Bears, and 70 year old Brett Favre, although having a good 2nd half last week, will revert to his tired and injured self again on Sunday. CHI - 27 MIN - 18
Tennessee at Miami
The Titans are coming off a bye week and should be tanned, rested and ready for the Dolphins on Sunday, although it is doubtful that Kenny Britt will return to the lineup following a hamstring injury 2 weeks ago against the Chargers. The Titans also have a plus and minus in their lineup in the name of Randy Moss. If he can behave in the locker room and play up to his potential, he could be an asset to the Titans, but I expect he'll be the jerk we all know and hate from his Patriot and Viking days. The Dolphins took a whooping from the Ravens last week, and looked horrible. This game is Tennessee's to lose. TN - 32 MIA - 14
Houston at Jacksonville
The Jaguars are coming off a bye week after big win over the hapless Cowboys, but they really are not playing up to the level I think they are capable of. The Texans started out strong, but have not played well lately. Jacksonville (4-4) has endured two straight losing seasons and Houston (4-4) has yet to make the playoffs in its first eight. It’s always difficult to contend in the South, which has been won by Indianapolis six times in the last seven years. This is a tough game to call, so I'm tossing a coin and calling it for the Texans. HOU - 24 JAX - 17
Detroit at Buffalo
If you are tempted to call this Loser Bowl Week 10, think again. The Bills are playing far better than their winless record shows, and the Lions have been playing good ball as well, and will be a power to be reckoned with next year. The Lions, who also dropped 24 straight on the road from Sept. 9, 2001-Dec. 21, 2003, have lost three of their four road games this year by eight points or fewer. The Bills (0-8) keep playing close games, losing each of their last three by three points, but remain the NFL’s only winless team. The 2008 Lions are the only team to finish a 16-game season without a victory. I'm predicting that the Bills will finally add one to the W column, and home field advantage will play a big part. BUF - 24 DET - 21 that may be won in overtime.
Carolina at Tampa Bay
Easy call. TB - 32 CAR - 10 *Yawn*
Kansas City at Denver
The Chiefs are hoping last week’s performance was just an aberration. The Broncos wish they had only one poor effort to bounce back from. The Chiefs look to keep sole possession of the AFC West lead on Sunday when they face a slumping Broncos team coming off a bye week and trying to win its first divisional game at Invesco Field under coach Josh McDaniels. I'm going with the Chiefs KC - 34 DEN - 17
St. Louis at San Francisco
Tied for first and coming off a bye, the Rams go for their first division road win in three years Sunday when they face the 49ers. Neither team impresses me, especially the 2-6 49ers. I'm putting this one in the "who cares" category, but calling it for the Rams STL - 20 SF - 17
Dallas at New York Giants
I don't know where to start. The Giants are playing like a Super Bowl bound team lately, and Jerry Jones' self proclaimed "America's Team" is like a rudderless ship without a captain. They have no coach, no quarterback and no chance. NYG - 42 DAL - 7
Seattle at Arizona
The Seahawks had their collective asses handed to them by the Giants last Sunday, and the Cardinals are coming off an OT loss against the mediocre Vikings last Sunday. Both teams are coming off a losing streak, but it will end for the Seahawks this week. SEA - 24 ARIZ - 13
New England at Pittsburgh
Sunday night's game is one not to be missed. Both teams are 6-2 and both have had some tough wins. The Patriots have dropped consecutive games twice in the past eight seasons, a rut they’ll be anxious to avoid matching in Sunday night’s showdown at Heinz Field between a pair of Super Bowl hopefuls. The Patriots will be looking to rebound again Sunday after a performance that left both coach and quarterback searching for answers. New England turned the ball over three times and held the ball for less than 22 minutes in a 34-14 defeat at Cleveland last Sunday that ended its run as the NFL’s lone one-loss team. This would be too close to call, except my extreme dislike for the Patriots makes this one easy. PIT - 27 NE - 21 (You are welcome, Ed Morrissey)
Finally there is Monday night's game:
Philadelphia at Washington
Last time these teams met, The Redskins had a stunning victory against the Eagles. Don't look for it this weekend. Michael Vick led the Eagles to a stunning surprising win over the Colts last week, while the Redskins, who are coming off a bye week, got trounced by the Lions, and McNabb got sidelined towards the end of the game. PHL - 34 WASH - 24
Well, those are my predictions, what are yours? Feel free to post them in the comments section.

Veteran's Day part II
Happy Veterans Day to all who have served honorably in the US armed services (and the Coast Guard too j/k). Those who have served have often paid the ultimate price to keep the United States free, and they continue that tradition today. Here's a video of a ceremony commemorating the Baatan Death March in the Philippines in 1942. Having driven the path of the march from Mariviles to POW camp at Tarloc, where survivors were mistreated and murdered, I can only marginally comprehend what those men went through, both American and Filipino, but we owe them more than they will ever know. Here's a video honoring them.
We owe these men and those who have passed on a great deal. It is because of them that we live free today.
Hat tip for the video: Michelle Malkin

NFL Week 9
Week 8 had some very interesting and close games along with a few surprise upsets. My predictions were....well, lets not look at them too closely. If batting .500 is considered great, then I rocked, but this is football, and that is a whole different ball game. Ok enough bad jokes. Here are my week 9 picks.
San Diego at Houston
The Chargers have been one of the NFL’s best second-half teams over the previous four seasons, leading to as many division titles over that stretch. They looked very strong last week, defeating the Titans handily. The Texans had a very strong start of the season, but haven't been playing all that well as of late. The Colts humiliated them last week. This is a tough game to call, since both teams are healthy, and if Houston gets their mojo back, this promises to be a great game. I'm reluctantly calling it for the Chargers. SD - 24 HOU - 21.
Arizona at Minnesota
After an ugly and public parting with Randy Moss earlier this week, the Vikings will try to get their season back under control when they host the struggling Cardinals on Sunday. While Minnesota was aware of the Moss’ negative reputation after he spent his first seven seasons with the organization, the Vikings hoped his immense talent would overshadow his personality issues. That didn’t happen. Could anyone have seen that being problematic? 70 year old, and injured Brett Favre looked old, tired and pathetic against the Patriots last week, and we are seeing the once great QB descend into lameness, in more ways than one. The Cardinals have their own problems, and they are going to start Derek Anderson once again, a totally unimpressive QB who is mediocre at best. Call this Loser Bowl Week 9. Both teams stink on ice. AZ - 21 MN - 10
New Orleans at Carolina
The Saints opened up a big can of whoop-ass on the Steelers last week, and it looked like the old Saints are back. Carolina is competing with the Bills and Lions for worst team in the NFL. The Saints will readily handle the Panthers. NO - 41 CAR - 10
New England at Cleveland
I'm not going to waste my time on this mismatch. NE - 32 CLE - 12
Tampa Bay at Atlanta
The Bucs barely got past the terrible Cardinals last week in a horribly hard game to watch. Their record is far better than the quality of the team. The Falcons beat a tough Bengals team 2 weeks ago and had a bye week to rest up. I'm looking for them to beat the Bucs this week. ATL - 32 TB - 28
Chicago at Buffalo
The Bears are over .500, but haven’t been playing as well as their record indicates. The Bills are at the other end of the spectrum, remaining the NFL’s lone winless team despite playing competitive football. I'm going out on a limb today and predicting that the Bills pick up their first seasonal win. BUF - 24 CHI - 17
Miami at Baltimore
The Ravens had a tough win over the Bills last week, and are still looking playoffs bound. The Dolphins are 0-3 on the road, and had a tough time against the Bengals last week. Both teams are better than their records, and this promises to be one of the better games of the week. I'm going to go with the Ravens. BAL - 28 MIA - 24
New York Jets at Detroit
Rex Ryan proclaimed his Jets the NFL’s best team as they went into their bye week. They didn’t provide much evidence to back up his words upon their return. They were completely shut out offensively by the Packers last week. The Lions have scored an NFC-best 28.2 points per game since Week 2 and have averaged 37.7 in three home games. That’s a pace the Jets’ brash coach doesn’t think they can maintain Sunday. “I just don’t believe that’s going to happen,” Ryan said. “Come out and prove me wrong, but I doubt it. This is a proud group right here on defense. “Do you expect to shut out Detroit? Of course not, they’ve got a very talented team and all that kind of stuff, but this is a great defense coming into town.”
If the Jets don't get serious and play a serious game against the Lions, this could go ugly early. Still, after being humiliated by the Packers last week, I'm calling it for the Jets. NYJ - 32 DET - 30
New York Giants at Seattle
The Giants come out of their bye week with plenty of momentum. They’ll need it to overcome some daunting numbers in their next game against a fellow first-place team. New York (5-2) has won four straight to take over the top spot in the NFC East, putting a rough start in the rear view mirror with a streak marked by dominant defense and versatile offense. The Giants defeated Dallas 41-35 on Oct. 25, limiting the Cowboys to 254 yards and knocking quarterback Tony Romo out with a broken collarbone.
The Seahawks will need their home-field advantage, having limped back to Seattle after a 33-3 loss at Oakland last week. The team lost five starters to injury, including quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, who is out after suffering a concussion.
This game falls in the category of "when they are good, they are very very good, and when they are bad they are awful". I'm calling it for the Giants, just because I'm a fan. NYG - 24 SEA - 14
Indianapolis at Philadelphia
The Colts finally have sole possession of first place in the AFC South, but they are not about to take anything for granted. The Eagles are tanned rested and ready, coming off a bye week. After missing the last three games following a rib injury suffered against Washington on Oct. 3, Vick is expected to start in place of Kevin Kolb. Look for a low scoring game, with a dominant Colts beating the Eagles in a nail biter. IND - 17 PHL - 13
Kansas City at Oakland
This promises to be another great game on Sunday. The Raiders trounced the Seahawks in an amazing upset. The Chiefs are playing well, but could make a lot of improvements. But the way the Raiders have been playing lately, it is their game to lose. OAK - 27 KC - 24
Dallas at Green Bay
Jerry Jones' self proclaimed "America's Team" will be the Packers bitch on Sunday night. Romo is out for the season, and I watch the Cowboys games just so I can laugh at their pathetic performance. GB - 42 DAL - 20. Did I ever mention that I hate the Cowboys?
Finally, Monday night's game could be a good one.
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati
After coming up short in one prime-time road showdown, Pittsburgh tries to bounce back at Paul Brown Stadium by extending Cincinnati's four-game skid and keeping pace in a division race that doesn’t look like it will include the defending champions. Defending division champion Cincinnati (2-5) that can’t seem to finish. The Bengals completed an 0-4 October by falling 22-14 to visiting Miami on Sunday, their fourth straight loss in a one-possession game. The Bengals have been playing decent ball, but haven't been able to win.
The Steeler offense will make the day and will lead them to a win. PIT - 32 CIN - 21
Well, those are my picks. There are a lot of tough picks this week. What are your predictions? Feel free to put them in the comments section.
Update 1: "I'm not going to waste my time on this mismatch. NE - 32 CLE - 12" Yes I blew that one big time, but all in all I did pretty good this week. Bite men Nephew Ben. LOL
Update 2: The Steelers got by the the Bengals, and 70 year old Brett Favre actually played a good game.
I did well this week. Is anyone taking up a collection for Wade Philips? <crickets> I didn't think so.

Bye Bye Nancy
Yes, this is gloating, but so what. The Speaker of the House who rammed Porkulus, TARP, TARP II, ObamaCare, Insurance Regulation, Student Loan government grab, Government Motors; and if she could would have passed dubious carbon emission "cap and trade" taxes on all of us, is history. Bye Bye San Fran Nan.
May we never see another communist as Speaker of the House EVER AGAIN.

American Idol can shove it
Here's a couple of kids who can play instruments, harmonize and sing. Neither look older than 15 or 16. This is a very nice cover of the Eagles song from the 1970's, Hollywood Waltz. This is NOT America's Got Talent, American Idol, and all those no talent shows all thrown together. How about a couple kids who aren't attention whores, and put something cool up on youtube. Nice going kids. I loved the song.
